A trio of local musical acts have been announced for the Canon Theatre’s opening season this fall.

The golden age of rock ‘n’ roll, doo-wop, and soul will be celebrated when “60s Gold” takes the stage at the Canon Theatre in Canonsburg on Sunday, Nov. 15, for a one-night-only

musical celebration presented by Spotlight Productions.

According to a release from the nonprofit Canonsburg Educational and Cultural Institute (CECI), which operates the theater, The Skyliners will headline the evening, and will be joined on the bill by the Pure Gold Showband and Pittsburgh singer Jimmie Ross, who is best known from his tenure with The Jaggerz.

The show will begin at 4 p.m.

The Canon Theatre is set for a sold-out performance from western Pennsylvania icons The Clarks on Oct. 24, following a year of intensive interior and exterior renovations by CECI to revive the former middle school building as a premier live entertainment destination.

“Canon Theatre is a place where music, memories and community come together,” Canon Theatre Managing Director Blair Trunzo said in a statement. “60s Gold brings together an incredible lineup of performers whose music has stood the test of time. We’re excited to welcome audiences to Canonsburg for an evening of great music, cherished memories and a truly special live experience.”
