Donegal man accused of raping woman at Chartiers Township house
A Donegal Township man is accused of raping a woman inside her Chartiers Township home after helping her when she called him with car trouble last week.
Chartiers Township police said the woman called 28-year-old Logan Matthew McDonough to help with her car and then invited him into her home for coffee shortly before 9 a.m. Tuesday.
While in the kitchen, McDonough allegedly forced himself on the woman despite her telling him she did consent to the sexual encounter, police said. The situation caused her to bleed and McDonough eventually stopped before leaving the house, according to court documents.
The woman went to the Chartiers Township Police Department and reported the alleged rape, and she was taken to a local hospital for an examination of her injuries after giving a statement that she did not consent to the encounter, according to court documents.
Investigators said they then interviewed McDonough, who admitted to the encounter and heard the woman tell him “no,” but he told police that he thought she was “role-playing” and still interested, police said.
Chartiers Township police charged McDonough with felony counts of rape, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, sexual assault and aggravated indecent assault without consent, along with one misdemeanor charge of indecent assault.
He was arraigned Wednesday morning by District Judge Louis McQuillan and sent to the Washington County jail on $50,000 cash bond while he awaits his preliminary hearing tentatively scheduled for Oct. 13 at 10:45 a.m.
