Through the generosity of individuals, businesses and organizations, 2000 Turkeys aims to raise an estimated $150,000 to provide Thanksgiving dinner for those struggling to make ends meet in Washington County.

Thanksgiving is just around the corner and 2000 Turkeys continues its grassroots effort to ensure that Washington County families in need can enjoy a Thanksgiving meal.

Through the generosity of individuals, businesses and organizations, 2000 Turkeys aims to raise an estimated $150,000 to provide Thanksgiving dinner for those struggling to make ends meet in Washington County.

The annual fundraiser partners with the Greater Washington County Food Bank and City Mission Boxes of Love to provide a meal to more than 21,000 people in Washington County experiencing food insecurity. Of those 21,000 people, 1 in 5 is a child and nearly 1 in 3 is a senior, according to George Omiros, president and CEO of the Greater Washington County Food Bank.

There is plenty of time to donate before Thanksgiving. Donations can be mailed to: 2000 Turkeys, P.O. Box 2000, Washington, PA 15301. Or donors can go online through Zeffy via the QR code published with this story.
