By Mike Jones 1 min read

A Finleyville man died Wednesday morning when his motorcycle crashed into a van in Nottingham Township.

Edward C. DeRosa, 56, was driving west on Route 136 and approaching Sundust Road shortly before 11 a.m. when a commercial van made a left-hand turn across the westbound lanes and collided with the motorcycle, according to the Washington County coroner’s office.

DeRosa, who was not wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene, the coroner’s office said.

State police, who are investigating the crash, did not immediately release information on the incident. Information on the driver of the van or if anyone inside that vehicle was injured was not available Wednesday afternoon.

Police were assisted at the scene by volunteer firefighters from Valley Inn, Fallowfield and Finleyville, along with medics with Ambulance and Chair EMS.
