Constitution Day observed at Washington County Courthouse

Thursday was Constitution Day, and the occasion was marked at the Washington County Courthouse with citizens and students reading the document in its entirety and signing a replica of the U.S. Constitution.
Constitution Day is an American federal observance that recognizes the adoption of the Constitution and those who have become U.S. citizens. It is observed on Sept. 17, the day in 1787 that delegates to the Constitutional Convention signed the document in Philadelphia.
Originally planned to take place on the steps of the courthouse, it was moved inside due to rain. It was sponsored by the Washington County Bar Association.
