Belle Vernon man pleads guilty to bank robbery charges
A Belle Vernon man pleaded guilty in federal court this week to charges he robbed a Monessen bank in 2021.
According to a press release from the Department of Justice, Dylan Adams, 29, entered guilty pleas to charges of bank robbery and attempted bank robbery on Wednesday.
The charges stem from a July 9, 2021 incident where Adams entered a bank and handed a teller a note demanding $15,000. He made off with $3,731.
Police released a photo of the robber. Adams was identified on July 23 after he went into a credit union in Charleroi, and an employee recognized him from the photo.
According to the DOJ, Adams will be sentenced Dec. 19. He faces up to 20 years in prison, a $250,000 fine, or both.
