Police Beat Aug. 24

BURGETTSTOWN
Threats: Donald Sadler, 66, of Burgettstown, was charged by Smith Township police Thursday with terroristic threats, disorderly conduct and harassment. According to the criminal complaint, the afternoon of Aug. 16 Sadler was standing outside Heist Spirits C. in the 1600 block of North Main Street and threatening to kill the owner. Charging documents state he was also taking pictures of customers’ vehicles. Charges were issued via summons.
WASHINGTON
Officer assaulted: Michelle Ellen Swaney, 44, of Washington, was charged Friday by Washington police with aggravated assault and assault of a law enforcement officer. According to the criminal complaint, shortly after 2 a.m. Friday police were called to the GetGo at 104 E. Wylie Ave. where Swaney was accused of bothering other customers. Charging documents allege that she left the store but remained on the sidewalk outside, and police arrested her when she refused to leave. Swaney is accused in court documents of kicking an officer in the hip and spitting on his leg. Swaney was arraigned Friday morning before District Judge James Saieva, who sent her to the Washington County jail on $25,000 bond.
