Chartiers Township man charged in alleged assault

Chartiers Township police arrested a man Saturday after he allegedly assaulted a woman and attempted to drive away.
Randall Lee Bell Jr., 33, of Chartiers Township, faces a felony aggravated assault charge and misdemeanors of reckless endangerment, simple assault, criminal mischief and driving under the influence.
According to the criminal complaint, at about 7:30 p.m. Friday police were called to the 700 block of North Main Street. Bell is accused in court records of punching Candace Kilgore in the head and slamming her head into the windshield of her vehicle.
Charging documents state that Bell got into his vehicle and drove at a high rate of speed on Slate Alley, and rammed another call. He then fled the area on foot into a nearby wooded area.
Bell was arraigned Saturday morning before District Judge James Saieva, who sent him to the Washington County jail on $75,000 bond. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 9:15 a.m. Sept. 2.
