The Washington County coroner identified the victim of Monday’s hit-and-run accident in Robinson Township.

According to Coroner Timothy Warco, 46-year-old Brian Everhart was outside of his vehicle when he was struck by another driver.

A report from Warco states that Everhart had addresses in Clarksburg, W.Va., and Russellville, Tenn.

Everhart was a commercial truck driver, and at about 3:40 p.m. stopped his vehicle to the right of the fog line on the ramp from Route 22 to the Southern Beltway to investigate a mechanical issue.

The driver who hit Everhart did not remain at the scene.

Washington County District Attorney Jason Walsh said the incident remains under investigation, and that state police would be conducting accident reconstruction on Tuesday.

No charges have been filed, but Walsh suggested investigators may know the identity of the driver.

“It’s not a matter of identifying anyone,” Walsh said.

Pennsylvania State Police Troop T, which covers the Turnpike, is investigating the incident. A public information officer for Troop T did not respond to phone calls and an email seeking more information.

According to Warco, Everhart was declared dead at the scene at 4:50 p.m.

The state Department of Transportation and Fort Cherry Ambulance also responded to the accident.
