South Strabane Township supervisors will hold a public hearing next week for a liquor license transfer to the address of the former TGI Fridays in Strabane Square.
Township manager Jeff Ziegler confirmed that Industry Public House is planning to open a new location at 315 Washington Road.
The public hearing is scheduled to take place at the board of supervisors regular meeting at 6 p.m. July 22.
It would be the third location for Industry Public House, a restaurant and bar that also operates in the Lawrenceville neighborhood of Pittsburgh and North Fayette. In recent months the parking lot around the building has been repaved.
Adam Garcia, Industry’s operations director, cautioned the new location may not be opening anytime soon.
“We don’t have even a really firm range for when we’re going to open. We’re in the process of getting things all in place,” Garcia said.
When it does open, Garcia thinks it is a good place for Industry Public House to expand further.
“We like the location, and we think it’s a great spot,” Garcia said. “I think we’ll fit in pretty well in Washington.”
The liquor license is being transferred from 225 W. Main St., Mongonahela, the former site of Main Street Tavern.
Main Street Tavern was damaged in a fire caused by arson on March 8, 2024. Hunter McMahon, 30, of Monongahela was arrested for setting the fire.
According to court records, McMahon pleaded guilty on Oct. 30 to a felony charge of arson and a misdemeanor of resisting arrest. He was sentenced to 11-and-a-half to 23 months in prison.
