Bradford House hosting historical fiction novelist
The Bradford House Historical Association in Washington is hosting a lecture and book-signing by novelist Dan E. Hobbs Wednesday.
Specializing in historical fiction, Hobbs will talk about the challenges and divisions America faced in the early 19th century, highlighting the struggle between unity and separation as captured in his second “Cleave America” novel, “The Continental Divide 1802.” The novel includes Washington County in its setting and has notable Whiskey Rebellion participants and early residents of the county among its characters.
Hobbs is a retired military officer and a former Air Force futures consultant to the Department of Defense. He grew up in West Virginia and has written extensively in technical, military and often classified settings. Hobbs began to transform his technical writing skills into creative writing about 10 years ago.
Hobbs also volunteers in local and international Christian ministries.
The lecture and book signing will be at 7 p.m. at the Bradford House’s Meeting House location at 182 S. Main St., in Washington. For information, go online to www.bradfordhouse.org.
