Blairsville man dies in Carroll Township crash
A Blairsville man was killed early Sunday morning in a one-car crash on state Route 481 in Carroll Township.
Matthew J. Roth, 21, was operating a vehicle that was traveling south and struck the concrete parapet of a bridge at the intersection of Routes 481 and 2023 and then caught fire, according to Washington County coroner Timothy Warco. A passing motorist called Washington County 911 at 3:07 a.m. to report the accident.
Roth was not wearing a seat belt.
Tri-Community EMS, and the Carroll Township and Valley Inn fire departments assisted at the scene.
The wreck is being investigated by Carroll Township Police.
