Splash time: Swimming pools ready to open for summer
Hot summer days are around the corner, and many of the region’s public pools will open this Memorial Day weekend to help people beat the heat.
Washington County
Canonsburg Town Park Pool

Canonsburg
Town Park Pool will kick off the season on Memorial Day weekend, and will be open on May 24, 25 and 26 from noon until 6 p.m. It will be closed May 27, 28 and 29, and will be open May 30 from 1 to 7 p.m., the last day of school for Canon-McMillan students. The pool will open daily from noon until 6 p.m. beginning May 31.
Daily admission is $8 per person, age 4 and over.
The pool is available for rental for private parties.
In mid-June, night swims will begin on Thursday evenings from 6:15 p.m. to 8:25 p.m.

Washington Park Pool

Due to maintenance and repairs, Washington Park Pool won’t open on Memorial Day, Instead, opening day will be May 31, and the pool will be open daily through Sept. 1. Pool hours are noon to 6 p.m. Daily admission for city residents is $6 and $7 for non-residents.
For the Spark the Park event on July 5, admission to the pool is free. The Shark in the Park cardboard boat competition is scheduled for Aug. 2, and Bark in the Park Doggie Swim will be held Sept. 3. A triathlon that includes a leg in the swimming pool is slated for Aug. 23/24.
Night swims will be announced at a later date.

Greene County
Carmichaels Pool

Carmichaels
After closing for major repairs for the 2024 season, Carmichaels Pool will remain closed this season.
Greene County Water Park

The Greene County Water Park is slated to open June 7, and will be open daily from noon to 6 p.m.
Admission to the park will be $10 for children and $12 for adults.

Mon View Pool

The Mon View Pool will open June 7 and will maintain the same hours as Greene County Water Park, daily from noon. to 6 p.m.
Mon View Pool admission will cost $6 for children 17 and under and $8 for adults.

Ryerson Station State Park Pool

Both the swimming pool and spray park at Ryerson Station State Park Pool will be open daily from 11:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
Fayette County
Franklin Township Community Pool

Fayette County’s public pool, located in Franklin Township, will open for the season on Saturday, May 25.
The Franklin Community Pool will be open daily from noon to 8 p.m.
Admission is $10 for a day pass, while children 4 and younger swim for free. Season passes are available for $110.

Allegheny County
Community and Recreation Center at Boyce Mayview Park

The outdoor swimming pool at Boyce Mayview Park will open for the season on Saturday, May 24.
The pool will remain open daily from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily, weather permitting, through the end of summer.
Daily admission is open to the community and recreation center members and their guests, with a limited number of daily passes available for non-members.
The pool is open to non-members Monday through Friday only.
Dormont Pool

The Dormont Pool will begin operating on Saturday, May 24, and remain open through Sept. 1.
The pool will be open weekdays from noon to 7:30 p.m. and until 8 p.m. weekends. From May 27 to June 6 and Aug. 18 to Aug. 29 the pool will only be open from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. The slide will not be open during the shortened weekdays.
Dormont’s pool will also be closed the first Monday of each month. Admission is $8. Children under 3 are free.

Mt. Lebanon Swim Center

The Mt. Lebanon Swim Center opens on Saturday, May 24, and is scheduled to remain open until at least Aug. 18.
The pool will be open on Saturday from noon to 7 p.m.
Mt. Lebanon may add additional days to the schedule past Aug. 19.

Scott Pool

Swim season at the Scott Township pool begins Memorial Day weekend.
The pool will be open from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday, May 24, through Monday, May 26, and then will switch to a more limited schedule until June 9.
The pool will be open from 4:30 to 8 p.m. from May 27 through May 30, and from noon until 6 p.m. May 31 and June 1. On June 2 through 6, the pool will be open from 4:30 until 8 p.m.
Regular hours, which begin June 9, will be 1 to 6 p.m. on Mondays and Fridays, noon to 8 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, and noon to 6 p.m. on weekends and holidays.
Admission for Scott Township children is $7 and $9 for adults. Non-resident children can enter the pool for $10, while admission for non-resident adults is $14.
