Donegal police charge woman in fatal crash

A Claysville woman is facing charges for her role in a crash that killed another woman in October.
Donegal police charged Tammera Marie Ross Thursday with a felony of homicide by vehicle and misdemeanor of involuntary manslaughter.
The charges are connected to an Oct. 20 crash that led to the death of 23-year-old Alyssa Hutchison of Washington.
According to the criminal complaint, at about 7:44 p.m. police were called to the Dollar General in the 4500 block of State Route 40.
Ross, 56, told police she saw the headlight from Hutchison’s motorcycle as she went to make a left turn onto Route 40. Charging documents state that Hutchison swerved to avoid Ross but she struck the front driver’s side of her Volkswagen Jetta.
Hutchison was transported to UPMC Washington Hospital, where she died about an hour later. She was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
There is an active warrant for Ross’ arrest, and she has not been arraigned on the charges.
