Peters Township police charged a woman accused of assaulting police officers after she was taken into custody during a domestic incident.

Kimberly M. Pettijohn, 52, of Peters Township, faces felony charges of aggravated assault, and misdemeanors of simple assault and resisting arrest.

According to the criminal complaint, at about 3:45 p.m. Sunday police were called to the 400 block of Thompsonville Road. Court records accuse Pettijohn of slamming a door on her daughter’s hand and scratching her son-in-law.

Pettijohn was transported to UPMC Washington Hospital after complaining of chest pain. Charging documents state she kicked two police officers while they attempted to place her on a stretcher.

According to the complaint, the felony charges filed Monday against Pettijohn are related to her actions toward police officers.

Pettijohn has not been arraigned on the charges.
