Washington police arrested a man last week after he was accused of breaking into a neighboring apartment and stealing several pairs of shoes.

Nicholas Jacob Lesjak, 42, of Washington, was charged Friday with a felony of burglary and misdemeanor charges of theft by unlawful taking, criminal mischief and resisting arrest.

According to the criminal complaint, police were called at about 10:15 p.m. Thursday to the 100 block of Church Street. Charging documents accuse Lesjak of breaking a window to enter a neighbor’s apartment and steal multiple pairs of shoes.

Lesjak allegedly fought officers as they attempted to arrest him.

District Judge Kelly Stewart arraigned Lesjak Friday morning and sent him to the Washington County jail on $100,000 bond. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 10:45 a.m. Oct. 15.
