Washington police arrest Pittsburgh man in robbery

Washington police arrested a man Friday in connection with a robbery in the city.
Damon Cruz Bey, 37, of Pittsburgh, faces a felony charge of robbery and misdemeanors of simple assault and theft by unlawful taking.
According to the criminal complaint, shortly before 6 p.m. Sept. 18, Scott Kunak reported that two men had assaulted him in the 150 block of West Beau Street and then stole his girlfriend’s cellphone.
Kunak said he only knew Bey as “Cruz,” and the other man as “Dollar.” The following day Kunak informed police that Bey was at City Mission, and police took Bey into custody. Police did not include an address for Kunak on the complaint.
The other man involved in the incident has yet to be identified.
Bey was arraigned Friday night before District Judge Kelly Stewart, who sent him to the Washington County jail on $20,000 bond. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1:45 p.m. Oct. 15.
