A former resident of Bentleyville and Scenery Hill will assume the role of Florida Bar president next year.

Paige Greenlee graduated salutatorian from Bentworth High School in 1992. She obtained her law degree from Emory University in Atlanta, Ga., in 2000.

Greenlee founded her Tampa, Fla., law firm, Greenlee Law, in 2014. She has been on the Florida Bar’s board of governors since 2018.

Last month, she won an election to become the president-elect, and future president, of the state’s bar association. She succeeds current president-elect Michael Fox Orr when he takes the role of president of Rosalyn Sia Baker-Barnes at the Florida Bar Convention in June.

Greenlee will become president in June 2027.

“I’m excited, I’m proud of the campaign that I ran, and I am humbled by the support that I received across the state,” Greenlee said in a press release. “I know I have a lot of responsibility ahead, responsibility that comes with the confidence that members of the Bar have in me, and I don’t take that lightly.”

Greenlee won the March election with 7,244 votes to opponent Jeffrey Rynor’s 4,583. According to a press release, her platform focused on access to justice and court efficiency, enhancing professionalism, civility and ethics, the responsible use of innovative technology, sustainability for solo and small-firm practitioners, and preserving the independence of the judiciary and the Florida Bar.

“The Board of Governors has been told by the Supreme Court, and takes very seriously, the role that we play in the discipline process, and I want to make sure that the Bar continues doing that and not some other entity,” Greenlee said in the release. “We’re a self-regulating profession; it’s something that makes us very unique and we do a very good job of it, and I want to make that stays in our hands.”
