City Mission will host its biggest – and sweetest – fundraiser on Sunday.
The 32nd annual Sweet and Savory Sunday will take place from noon to 5 p.m. at Hilton Garden Inn at Southpointe.
The City Mission is expecting an estimated 3,000 people to attend, where they can sample both sweet and savory treats from 25 vendors – 17 sweet and 8 savory.
All proceeds from the event will benefit City Mission and its programs and services to help the homeless.
A new feature this year is the “savory.”
“We wanted to do something new and to invite more of our community partners to be a part of this event,” said Melissa Marion, City Mission Director of Development. “We have so many vendors who help the mission on a regular basis, but who don’t specialize in sweets, so we get to have some of our strongest supporters get involved.”
Attendees can pre-register for Sweet and Savory Sunday online at citymission.org, or for additional information can call 724-222-8530.
Live entertainment will feature Scott Blasey of The Clarks, and back again are auction baskets, silent auction items, Kids’ Korner activities (including Royal Princess Engagements), concessions in the cafe, celebrity judges, and more family fun.
“Everything we do at City Mission is to support the homeless individuals in our community, the vulnerable, the people who need a little help and extra time to get back on their feet and to independent living,” said Marion. “We’re grateful for all of our supporters and for all who attend.”
