Washington police are asking for assistance in identifying two men accused of using credit card numbers belonging to people outside of the country.

According to police, officers were called shortly before 7 p.m. to a business in the 600 block of Jefferson Avenue. Police did not identify the business.

Police said that the men purchased $400 worth of merchandise and asked the cashier to manually enter a credit card number. The men left but shortly returned and attempted to make another purchase exceeding $400 with a different card number.

An individual outside the United States contacted the business and said their card had been used without authorization. Police said that “most” of the merchandise was returned.

The two men left in a vehicle and traveled along Meadow Avenue toward Third Street.

Police are asking that anyone with information contact Detective Brady Stallings at 724-223-4225, or via email at bstallings@washingtonpa.us.
