McGuffey High School graduation set for Friday

McGuffey High School will hold its commencement on Friday at 7 p.m. at McGuffey Stadium, with 120 students graduating.

Honored speakers are Cydney Mathers, Nina Henderson, and Madison Lucas.

Cydney is the daughter of Chad and Jaqueline Mathers. She was a member of girls ice hockey, track and field, and the Mathematics Team, and was vice president of the National Honor Society.

She will attend Washington & Jefferson College and will major in biology and pre-medicine.

Nina is the daughter of Susan Queen and Blaine Henderson.

She was senior class president, and was a member of cheerleading, girls tennis, and track and field teams, and was historian of the National Honor Society. She also served on Peer Jury, was a member of Teen Action, FFA, concert choir, Drama Club, and Ski Club.

She plans to attend Penn State University.

Madison is the daughter of Michael and Autumn Lucas.

She was vice president of the Student Council and was captain of the cross country team. She was a member of the track and field team, secretary of National Honor Society, and a member of Peer Jury, Teen Action, FFA, Spanish Club, and Highlander Yearbook.

She will attend St. Vincent College, where she will major in health sciences and biology.
