Washington police charge man in assault
Washington police charged a man Tuesday for ramming into his ex-girlfriend’s vehicle while she tried to leave work.
Evan Rylee Holbrook, 22, of Ligonier, faces felony charges of aggravated assault and criminal use of a communication facility, as well as misdemeanors of reckless endangerment, harassment, stalking, loitering, terroristic threats and unlawful restraint.
According to the criminal complaint, Amira Maroulis reported to police on Monday that Holbrook had been harassing her and sending threatening messages last week.
Through the week, Holbrook sent multiple messages threatening Maroulis’ life, the complaint states. At about 8 p.m. Saturday, he arrived at her place of work in the 800 block of East Maiden Street. Charging documents state that Holbrook used his vehicle to block hers as she tried to leave.
According to the complaint, Holbrook put his car in reverse and rammed into the passenger side of the victim’s vehicle.
There is an active warrant for Holbrook’s arrest.
