South Strabane man charged in assault
South Strabane police arrested a man Tuesday after he was accused of assaulting his girlfriend.
Garrett Devon Ware, 29, of South Strabane, faces a felony charge of strangulation and misdemeanors of terroristic threats and simple assault.
According to the criminal complaint, shortly before 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, police were called to the 1600 block of Pierce Avenue.
Ware allegedly choked Rachel Gilles and punched her. Charging documents state that Ware was in possession of a firearm and threatened her life.
Ware was arraigned Tuesday afternoon before District Judge Charles Tenny, who sent him to the Washington County jail on $25,000 bond.
