Nottingham man charged in sexual assault of juvenile
State police charged a Nottingham Township man Wednesday after he was accused of sexually assaulting a juvenile.
William James Caramana, 46, faces felony charges of aggravated indecent assault, corruption of minors and a misdemeanor charge of indecent assault.
According to the criminal complaint, on Feb. 4 the 13-year-old victim’s mother reported the accusations.
During an interview later that month, the alleged victim said Caramana touched her inappropriately on more than one occasion.
According to court records, the incidents occurred between August of last year and February.
Online court records list Caramana’s attorney as Christopher Blackwell. Blackwell did not immediately return a phone call seeking comment.
Caramana was arraigned Thursday morning before District Judge Phillippe Melograne. He was released after posting $50,000 bond through a professional bondsman.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. April 13.
