Fire in Centervillle Borough damages home; man injured
A man was injured after a fire destroyed a home in Centerville Borough Sunday morning.
Richeyville Volunteer Fire Department Chief Mark Miller said firefighters were called to 88 Fishpot Run Rd. around 11:13 a.m. for a report of a fire.
Crews arrived to find a single-wide trailer with an attached garage engulfed in flames.
The homeowner suffered burns and was flown by emergency helicopter to a Pittsburgh hospital for treatment.
His wife and mother-in-law, who also were inside the home when the fire broke out, were not injured.
“He yelled to them to get out of the house; the house was on fire,” said Miller. “It was a pretty big fire. The house is a total loss.”
Several fire departments responded to the blaze, including East Bethlehem, Denbo-Vesta 6, California and Bentleyville, along with North Brownsville and South Brownsville fire departments in Fayette County.
The State Fire Marshal is still investigating the cause, but it is believed to have been caused by faulty electrical wiring.
