Police beat July 25

CHARTIERS
Assault alleged: Jeremiah E. Miesel, 42, of Chartiers Township, was charged by Chartiers Township police Wednesday with aggravated assault, strangulation and terroristic threats. According to the criminal complaint, police were called at about 7:37 a.m. Wednesday to the 100 block of Piatt Estates Drive. Miesel is accused of hitting and choking his wife, Debra Miesel. Charging documents state he pointed a firearm at the woman’s head. Jeremiah Miesel was released after posting a portion of his $50,000 bond Wednesday.
SOUTH FRANKLIN
Assault alleged: Harry Lee Dennis, 36, of South Franklin Township, was charged by state police Thursday with strangulation, receiving stolen property, simple assault, terroristic threats, reckless endangerment and driving under the influence. According to the criminal complaint, police were called at about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday to Dennis’ home in the 300 block of Bedillion Road. Dennis is accused of threatening to stab Amarissa Dunlop and punching her in the head. Charging documents state she grabbed her 2-year-old child and attempted to flee, but Dennis pushed her to the ground and choked her. According to the complaint, when police arrived Dennis was attempting to flee on a motorcycle but became stuck in a culvert. Police learned the motorcycle had been reported stolen. Dennis was arraigned Thursday morning before District Judge Gary Havelka, who sent him to the Washington County jail on $50,000 bond.
