Virginia Ruth Goughenour
Virginia Ruth Goughenour, 80, of Amity, died at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, December 6, 2012, in Donnell House, Washington.
She was born September 6, 1932, in Fairmont, W.Va., a daughter of the late Milton and Linda Mae Tennett Morris.
Mrs. Goughenour attended Fairmont schools. She worked for Brockway Glass and also at the Manor of Washington.
She was an avid Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers fan. She loved to garden flowers and watch birds. She was known for her cooking and baking, especially her bread and pies.
On August 21, 1948, she married Glenn S. Goughenour of Amity, who survives.
Surviving, in addition to her husband of more than 64 years, are daughters Linda (John) Rice of Amity and Virginia Mae (Mike) Knizner of Marianna; son James (Linda) Goughenour of Marianna; sister Elizabeth (Bill) Dailey of Waynesburg; nine grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Deceased, in addition to her parents, are son Glenn S. Goughenour Jr.; sister Mary (Hershel) Conrad; and great-grandson Michael David Knizner III.
Family and friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Nichol Funeral Home, 1728 Main Street, Marianna, where services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday, December 10, with Pastor John Sweaney officiating.
