Edward J. Magayna
Edward J. Magayna, 86, of Vestaburg (Mexico), died Wednesday, December 5, 2012, in Southmont of Presbyterian SeniorCare, Washington.
He was born October 5, 1926, in East Bethlehem Township, a son of the late Max M. and Mary Katherine Cwierz Magayna.
Mr. Magayna was a 1944 graduate of Centerville High School.
He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps.
Until his retirement, he worked for many years at J&L Steel in Pittsburgh.
He was a member of St. Michael Church of St. Oliver Plunkett Parish, Fredericktown, Hanson-Cole American Legion Post 391 of Fredericktown and SNPJ Lodge 729.
Mr. Magayna enjoyed golf, horse racing and sports.
Surviving are two sisters, Louise Misenko (Ralph) of Mentor, Ohio, and Patricia Throckmorton of Geneva, Ohio; seven nieces; and six nephews.
Deceased, in addition to his parents, are a brother, Max S. Magayna, and a sister, Irene Biksey.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in Greenlee Funeral Home, 42 Bank Street at Crawford Road, Fredericktown, where a blessing service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 11, with Deacon Thomas Raymond officiating. Interment will be in Greene County Memorial Park, Morgan Township. Military rites will be accorded by Hanson-Cole American Legion Post 391.
