Anna Belle Jones
Anna Belle Jones, 87, of Spraggs, died at 8 a.m. Sunday, December 9, 2012, in Golden Living Center, Morgantown, W.Va.
She was born Wednesday, October 21, 1925, in Shadyside, Ohio, a daughter of the late Patrick and Lucy Haught Stoneking.
Mrs. Jones was Methodist.
She was married to William F. Jones for 65 years, until his death in 2009. She and her late husband loved to travel across the United States and visited all the state capitals. Mrs. Jones enjoyed being a homemaker and helping her husband with woodworking.
She was one of the first women in the Spraggs area to drive a school bus, and often spoke about writing a book to chronicle her experiences over those 20 years of driving the bus. She also loved to cook and bake, especially for her grandson and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are son William T. and wife Joanna Sue Jones of Morgantown, W.Va.; grandson Eric and wife Siobhan Jones of North Wales; three great-grandchildren, Teresa, Michael and Victor Jones; brother Patrick Stoneking of Waynesburg; brother-in-law Thomas W. and wife Irene Jones of Spraggs; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are two sisters, Margaret Bland and Katherine Tennant.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the hour of service, Friday, December 14, in Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home Inc., Daryl L. Throckmorton, owner/director, 197 North Maiden Street, Waynesburg, with the Rev. Kathy Higgins officiating. Burial will be in Phillips Cemetery, Greene County.
