Randy P. Morich

Randy P. “Pap-Pap” Morich, 60, of Daisytown, died Sunday, December 16, 2012, in the emergency department of Mon Valley Hospital.

He was born January 27, 1952, in Brownsville, a son of the late Paul “Tubby” and Ethel Hajdu Morich.

Mr. Morich was a 1969 graduate of California Area High School.

A Vietnam veteran, he served with the U.S. Air Force 6993rd Security Squadron from 1970 to 1974. For his service, he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and Air Force Medal.

He was previously employed at the J&L Vesta 5 Mine before becoming self-employed as owner/operator of Morich Trucking for the past 30 years.

Mr. Morich was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 33 of Greensburg, Miners Club of Richeyville, where he was serving on the Board of Directors at the time of his death, and Independent Club of Bentleyville.

He enjoyed working on his trucks and equipment, riding with his granddaughter on his Kubota tractor, fixing her toys and watching car auctions on television.

On May 15, 1976, he married Joyce Pigeon Morich, who survives.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a son, Chad V. Morich (Tara) of Daisytown; a daughter, Dana Morich of Bentleyville; a granddaughter, Danisa Joy Morich; and a brother, Vince Morich (Shannon) of Greensburg.

Friends will be received from noon to 7 p.m. Wednesday in John B. Greenlee Funeral Home, 2830 Main Street, Beallsville, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 20. Interment will be in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill. Military rites will be accorded by Hancock-McCune-Horne American Legion Post 705 of Centerville.
