Edgar John Brown, 70, of Waynesburg, died at 2:22 p.m. Saturday, December 22, 2012, in Southwest Regional Medical Center, Waynesburg.

He was born Tuesday, June 23, 1942, in Waynesburg, a son of the late Edgar John Brown and Margaret Shultz Brown.

Mr. Brown was Protestant.

He attended Waynesburg High School, where he played football.

Mr. Brown was a sports enthusiast. He enjoyed long rides in the country with his family and loved the outdoors.

He was disabled due to a severe work accident.

Surviving are two daughters, Elaine (Bryan) Cumberledge of Waynesburg and Keda Anchinges of Monroe, Ga.; five grandchildren, Brian Tennant, Brandon Cumberledge, Hannah Cumberledge, Dayne Sargent and Brigette Anchinges; three great-grandchildren, Ross Tennant, Blake Tennant and Reed Tennant; three sisters, Sue Reiter of Muskegon, Mich., Mary Jane McClure of Waynesburg and Bonnie Lynn Policz of Sheffield Lake, Ohio; two brothers, George “Newt” (Priscilla) Brown of Waynesburg and Richard “Rick” A. Brown of Waynesburg; and several nieces and nephews.

At the request of the family, there will be no public visitation or services. Private burial will be held at a later date in Fairall Cemetery, Whiteley Township, Greene County. The family ask that memorials be made to a favorite charity of one’s choice. Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home Inc., Daryl L.
