Sara Azzarello
Sara Azzarello, 92, formerly of Burgettstown, died Tuesday, December 25, 2012, in Washington County Health Center, Chartiers Township, following a lengthy illness.
She was born November 21, 1920, in Burgettstown, a daughter of the late Sam and Lucy Longo Pusateri.
Mrs. Azzarello was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church and its Christian Mothers and Catholic Daughters.
She enjoyed playing bridge in her card club of 50 years.
On June 26, 1946, she married Salvatore J. Azzarello, who died February 10, 2009.
Surviving are a daughter, Annette (James) Latella; a son, James (Susan) Azzarello; three grandsons, Michael, Andrew and Mark Azzarello, all of Moon Township; brother Sal (Enod) Pusateri of Burgettstown; sister-in-law Josephine Pusateri of Sewickley; two brothers-in-law, Charles (Alice) Azzarello and Anthony (Nancy) Azzarello of Toronto, Ontario, Canada; and many nieces and nephews.
Deceased are three brothers, Joseph, Anthony and John Pusateri.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Taucher Funeral Home, 23 Erie Mine Road, Burgettstown. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 29, in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Burgettstown, with the Rev. Bob Staszewski, pastor, as celebrant.
