Betty L. Yaggi Hawk
Betty L. Yaggi Hawk of Washington passed away Sunday, October 28, 2012. Over the past 16 months, she experienced a decline in health, although she still was able to find great joy in helping to care for her grandson, Kristoffer.
She loved knitting and crocheting, which she did until a few months ago.
Prior to her illness, she lived in Bellmead Apartments, where she enjoyed all her friends and Red Hat Ladies.
In the 1980s, she volunteered for the YWCA In and Out Shop and American Cancer Society.
Deceased are her husband, Richard Blair Hawk, and their daughter, Debra Hawk Host.
Surviving are children Sharon Tarnosky of Brooksville, Fla., Richard B. Hawk Jr. of Brownsville, William Hawk of Brooksville, Dennis Hawk of Houston, Texas, Kimberly Hawk Huber of Canonsburg and Thomas Hawk of Canonsburg; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two brothers; a sister; and several nephews and nieces.
Family Hospice and Palliative Care provided care to her over the past several months. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy can be made to the family in care of Leo J. Henney Funeral Home, 323 Second Avenue, Carnegie, PA 15106. A memorial service will be held privately for the family.
