Charles E. Carnahan Sr.
Charles E. Carnahan Sr., 82, of Canonsburg, died Sunday, November 11, 2012, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.
He was born in Carnegie, a son of Frank and Rachael Carnahan.
Prior to retirement, he was employed as auto body manager for Bridgeville Sales Inc. and Maaco.
Mr. Carnahan served with the U.S. Army and was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 191, St. Patrick Church, Falcon Archers and Mt. Lebanon Sportsman’s Club. He loved spending time with his family.
His wife, Margaret E. Graff Carnahan, died May 25, 2012.
Surviving are two sons, Charles E. Carnahan Jr. and wife Luann of Eighty Four and Jeffrey Carnahan and wife Kimberly of Washington; four grandchildren, Charles and Brian Carnahan, Kristen Collier and Rachel Snyder; four great-grandchildren, Chloe, Tyler, Zachary and Collin; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Sollon Funeral Home Ltd., 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, J. David Sollon, supervisor, Phillip L. Sollon, director. Departing prayers will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 14, in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Patrick Church, Canonsburg. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray, with full military rites accorded by VFW Post 191 and American Legion Post 902.
