Charles Polosky
Charles “Bill” Polosky, 66, of Crucible, died unexpectedly at 10:07 a.m. Tuesday, November 20, 2012, in his home.
He was born January 4, 1946, in Franklin Township, Greene County, a son of the late Charles Joseph and Sophia Mateleska Polosky.
Mr. Polosky was a 1963 graduate of the former South Union Township High School in Uniontown.
He served with the U.S. Navy from 1963 until 1967 in the South Pacific, including one year at Midway Island and three years in San Diego, Calif.
On April 1, 1996, Mr. Polosky retired as a crew chief for American Airlines at Reagan National Airport in Washington, D.C.
He was a member of Cumberland American Legion Post 400, Greene County Slavonic Club in Crucible and Citizens Club in Crucible.
Surviving are his wife, Sally Andrews Polosky of Rockwood, Ill.; son Matthew C. Polosky, at home; sister, Janet J. Baker of Fredericksburg, Va.; stepmother, Anne S. Polosky of Masontown; stepbrother Fred Sauers of Fort Campbell, Ky.; and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday, November 25, in Yoskovich Funeral Home, 724-966-5500, Martin J. Yoskovich, funeral director, 300 South Vine Street (Route 88), Carmichaels. A service will follow the visitation at 8 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home with the Rev. Bruce R. Judy officiating. Full military honors will be accorded at 11 a.m. Monday, November 26, by Cumberland American Legion Post 400, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3491 and the U.S. Navy in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, 1158 Morgan Road, Cecil Township. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Cumberland American Legion Post 400, 205 East George Street, Carmichaels, PA 15320.
