Lillian Margaret Nagode
Lillian Margaret Nagode, passed away Sunday, March 31, 2013, in TownView Health and Rehabilitation Center, Canonsburg.
She was born in Cooperstown, N.Y., a daughter of John and Mary Sikole Nagode, who had both immigrated from Slovenia.
Her family moved several times and ended up owning a small apple orchid on Ash Street in Canonsburg, where she lived most of her life.
She was the head checker for the former A&P in Washington, until its closing. She was a member of SNPJ in Strabane.
She loved gardening and maintaining her house and yard.
She will be sadly missed by a sister, Nives Ruetschi; three nieces, Sue Kelley of Norristown, Linda Jones of Eighty Four and Robin Matyas of Houston; four nephews, Carl Nagode of Carlilse, Vernon Smith of Indian Head, Md., and Robert Ruetschi and Randy Ruetschi of Houston; and several grand nephews and nieces.
Deceased are a brother, John Nagode, and two sisters, Mary Smith and Nellie Nagode.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, owner/supervisor, 27 Cherry Avenue, Houston, PA 15342, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 4, with the Rev. Debra Rogosky officiating.
