Marilyn Seibert McMillen

Marilyn Seibert McMillen, 83, of Prosperity, died Tuesday, April 2, 2013, in Donnell House, Washington.

She was born January 30, 1930, in Canonsburg, a daughter of Leon Richard and Amelia Schade Seibert.

Mrs. McMillen received a bachelor of science degree in elementary education from Penn State University, where she was a member of Alpha Omicron Pi sorority. She taught in McGuffey schools for 20 years. She was a member of Ten Mile Power Squadron and was an avid sports fan.

On June 26, 1950, she married Shrader William McMillen Jr., who died June 23, 2004.

Surviving are three daughters, Susan Villar of North Oaks, Minn., Kathleen Tate of Roanoke, Va., and Lynne Miller of Washington; a son, Richard McMillen of Canonsburg; 11 grandchildren, Michael and David Villar, Christopher, Leigh, Matthew and Annie Hancock, Ean, Andrew and Emilie Miller and Richard and Gary McMillen; and five great-grandchildren, Caroline, Kathryn, William, Lawson and Coleman.

Friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Beinhauer-Bogan Funeral Home, 164 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, 724-745-5810, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 6. Interment will be in Oak Spring Cemetery, Chartiers Township. The family suggests memorial donations be made to Hospice Care of Washington Hospital, 10 Leet Street, Washington, PA 15301.
