Charles Kirk Jr.
Charles Kirk Jr., formerly of Eighty Four, quietly passed to his heavenly reward January 16, 2013, in Veterans Hospital, Kansas City, Mo.
He was born January 23, 1949, the oldest son of the late Charles and Stella Kirk of Venetia.
Mr. Kirk was a 1969 graduate of Monongahela High School.
Surviving are his wife, Linda; four stepchildren and 13 grandchildren of Missouri and California; sisters Norma Handra, Juanita Sabarese and Chief Master Sgt. Beverly Todd; brother Bill; and 15 nieces and nephews, all residing in Southwestern Pennsylvania.
Mr. Kirk was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving from 1969 to 1976, with tours of duty in Vietnam, Elmendorf AFB, Alaska, March AFB, Calif., and Whiteman AFB, Mo.
He lived in Fontana, Calif., for 30 years, then for three years in Kansas City.
Mr. Kirk was a lifelong Steelers fan and NASCAR enthusiast and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
A memorial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 12, in Harmon Creek Community Church, Burgettstown. He will be laid to rest at 12:30 a.m. in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township, with full military honors.
