Willa Jean Froats Hampson
Willa Jean Froats Hampson, 67, of Burgettstown, passed away unexpectedly Friday, April 5, 2013, in Washington Hospital.
She was born May 24, 1945, in Burgettstown, a daughter of Wilma Boni Froats Nickolay and husband Bernard of Burgettstown and the late George Allen Froats Sr.
After graduating from Union High School, Burgettstown, in 1963, she worked for Farm Restaurant in Hanover Township, Tri-State Drive-In in Slovan and retired in 2004 from Petrucci’s Shop ‘n Save, Burgettstown.
A generous and giving person, she enjoyed her home and flower gardening and cared for others her entire life.
Her husband, Charles E. “Chuck” Hampson Sr., died December 12, 2003.
Surviving are a daughter, Tammy Craig of Burgettstown; two grandsons, William David Hampson of Burgettstown and Ryan Vladich of Slovan; a stepson, Charles E. Hampson Jr. of Pittsburgh; two brothers, George Froats and wife Carol of Bulger and Richard Froats and wife Bernadette of Burgettstown; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to her father and husband, are two brothers, John Froats and Henry T. Froats Sr.; and a stepdaughter, Melanie Hampson.
Friends will be received from 2 to 9 p.m. Monday in Lee & Martin Funeral Home, 73 Highland Avenue, Burgettstown, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 9, with the Rev. Dan Ekas officiating. Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery, Florence.
Because of all the selfless deeds Mrs. Hampson did throughout her life, if so desired, memorial donations may be made in her memory to the Washington City Mission, 84 West Wheeling Street, Washington, PA 15301.
