Alyssa Nicole Long
Alyssa Nicole Long, 6, went to heaven to be with the Lord April 6, 2013, at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC, following an accident.
She was born November 28, 2006, in Washington, the lovely daughter of Kenneth Dale and Christy Lynne Shipe Long.
Alyssa was the light in any room she walked into. Her blue eyes sparkled with love and life. It was hard not to smile when she was around.
Alyssa’s life may have been short, but it was filled with joy, laughter and active fun.
Most recently, she was home-schooled by her mother, Christy.
She leaves behind her sister and best friend Becca, beloved dog GiGi and her loving Mom and Dad.
She loved riding her little tractor and rooting for her sister and cousin at the tractor pulls she attended.
Surviving in addition to her parents, are sister Rebecca Lynne Long; grandparents Ronald “Pappy” Wayne and Linda Hupp Shipe; grandmother Kimmie Celeste Long; uncle Michael Wayne Shipe; great-grandmother Margaret “Ma Ma” Mae Cox Shipe; and four cousins, Austin, McKenzie, Nathan and Olivia.
She is also survived by a number of other relatives who will miss her greatly.
Deceased are great-grandparents William “Pop Pop” Wayne Shipe and Elma Irene and Perry Barnhart.
Family and friends will be received from 2 to 7 p.m., the time of funeral services, Wednesday, April 10, in Nichol Funeral Home, 1873 East Maiden Street, Washington, with the Rev.
