Charles L. Wilson
Charles L. “Chuck” Wilson, 84, of Washington, died at 12:55 a.m. Sunday, April 7, 2013, in Washington County Health Center, Chartiers Township.
He was born March 9, 1929, in Washington, a son of the late Gordon A. and Maude Bauer Wilson Sr.
Mr. Wilson was a member of Immaculate Conception Church.
He was a graduate of Washington High School and attended one year at California University of Pennsylvania and a year at Washington & Jefferson College.
Mr. Wilson was a self-employed upholsterer and owner of Washington Upholstering and Awning Co. and C&L Washington Storage Units.
He enjoyed woodworking, golf, collecting antique padlocks and hobby trains.
Mr. Wilson was a member of Washington Country Club, served on the North Franklin Township Sanitary Authority council for 35 years, BPOE Lodge 776, American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post 175, was a member of the Sharpshooter Association and was an usher at Immaculate Conception Church at the 10:30 a.m. Mass for many years.
He also served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1951 to 1953 with the rank of sergeant.
On September 12, 1953, he married Lorraine Kinskey Wilson, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Mark S. (Gen Cameron) Wilson of Canonsburg; two brothers, Gordon A. (Ellen) Wilson Jr. of Cary, N.C., and John E. (Loretta) Wilson of Deerfield Beach, Fla.; and a sister, Mary (Richard) “Dick” Ferguson of Orlando, Fla.
Deceased are his son, Charles L. “Chuckie” Wilson Jr.; brothers Glenn Wilson Sr. and Robert “Pete” Wilson; and sisters-in-law Elizabeth “Liz” Wilson and Jacquie Wilson.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Warco-Falvo Funeral Home Inc., Wilson at East Katherine avenues, Washington, S. Timothy Warco, supervisor/director, Susan Falvo Warco, director, S. Timothy Warco II, director. A prayer service will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday, April 11, in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, Washington, with the Rev. Nicholas A. Spirko as celebrant. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
