Carole Abercrombie
Carole Abercrombie, 72, of Hundred, W.Va., died Monday, April 8, 2013, in her home.
She was born August 1, 1940, in Hundred, a daughter of the late Ray Tustin and Aline Postlethwait Tustin.
Mrs. Abercrombie was a retired certified nursing assistant in Wheeling (W.Va.) Hospital, retiring from the oncology unit.
Mrs. Abercrombie loved bluegrass music and worked with the bluegrass festival in Hundred. She was a member of Wetzel County Democratic Women and Earl Kiger American Legion Post 120 Ladies Auxillary.
Surviving are children Deborah Grimes and husband Larry of Pinckney, Mich., James Carter and wife Darla of Holbrook, Pamela Blaker and husband Jake of Carmichaels and Greg Carter and wife Danielle of Monterey, Va.; six grandchildren, Craig, Tanya, Kari, Jessi, Greg Jr. and Nissa; eight stepgrandchildren, Jake, Meagan, Greg, David, Sarah, Chris, Rick and Tracy; six great-grandchildren, Carter, Essence, Asher, Vanessa, Mathew and Baylee; six stepgreat-grandchildren, Emily, Abbey, Hillary, Jake, Isabella and Drew; nine brothers and sisters, Vincent Tustin, Delmus Tustin, Dale Tustin, Terry Tustin, John Tustin, Roger Tustin and Susie Tennant, all of Hundred, Janet Carter of Folsom, W.Va., and Micheal Tustin of Woodruff, W.Va.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, E.V. “Bud” Abercrombie; a stepson, David Abercrombie; and a brother, Vernon Tustin.
Respecting the wishes of the deceased, in lieu of flowers or contributions, the deceased has requested that everyone do an act of kindness for a stranger.
