Dorothy Julia Itzel Scears
Dorothy Julia Itzel Scears, 72, of Canonsburg, died Tuesday, April 9, 2013, in Golden Living Center, Canonsburg.
She was born July 31, 1940, in Washington, a daughter of the late John and Julia Lyons Itzel.
Mrs. Scears was a homemaker and enjoyed knitting, shopping, reading the Bible, movies and spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving are two sons, Frank L. Scears Jr. of Canonsburg and Johnathan L. Scears of Connellsville; a daughter, Juliana Baumgardner (David) of Canonsburg; 11 grandchildren, Jaqueline Andrews, Amy and Chelsea Baumgardner and Emily, Ainsley, Austin, Amanda, Madison, Cameron, Tyler and Brandon Scears; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews..
Deceased are her husband, Frank A. Scears, and a brother, John Itzel.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Sollon Funeral Home Ltd., Canonsburg, J. David Sollon, supervisor, Phillip L. Sollon, director, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, April 12, with Pastor Deb Byrum officiating. Interment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Peters Township.
