Jackie G. Blake, 56, of Waynesburg, formerly of Mt. Morris, died at 11:45 a.m. Wednesday, April 10, 2013, in Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va.

He was born Tuesday, January 25, 1957, in Waynesburg, a son of the late James E. Sr. and Mae Richmond Blake.

Mr. Blake was a member of Mt. Morris Gospel Tabernacle Assembly of God.

He enjoyed camping and telling jokes. He was an avid West Virginia Mountaineers fan and Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Mr. Blake was a self-employed mechanic and had worked in construction.

Surviving are his wife, Peggy Sue Whipkey Blake, whom he married November 22, 1975; three daughters and their husbands, Amy (Joseph E.) Miller of Mt. Morris, Jackie Sue (Tim) McClintock of Mt. Morris and Candy (Wayne) Ackley of Waynesburg; 10 grandchildren; five sisters, Violet Simms of Aleppo, Doris Archbold of Moundsville, W.Va., Ruby Witherow of Wellsville, Ohio, Peggy Hughes of Carmichaels and Sandy Whipkey of Waynesburg; a brother, Fred Blake of Mt. Morris; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are a son, Michael G. Blake; two sisters, Helen Able and Ethel Rivers; and three brothers, George Blake, James “Buddy” Blake and Woody Blake.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home Inc., Daryl L. Throckmorton, owner/director, 324 Mt. Morris Road, P.O. Box 478, Mt. Morris, PA 15349. There will be additional visitation from 10 to 11 a.m., the time of service, Saturday, April 13, in Mt. Morris Gospel Tabernacle Assembly of God, 103 School Road, Mt.
