Frances J. Lucy Macosko, 89, of Bentleyville, died Thursday morning, April 11, 2013, in her home.

She was born December 9, 1923, in Ellsworth, a daughter of Joseph H. and Frances Chester Lucy.

During World War II, she was a welder in the shipyards.

Mrs. Macosko was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Bentleyville.

She enjoyed gardening, making quilts and taking care of her dog, Jack.

Her husband, Joseph Macosko, died June 6, 1982.

Surviving are two daughters, Joyce A. Bishop (Timothy) of Greenville, N.C., and Karen L. Carlisle (Ken) of Bentleyville; three grandchildren, Kelly Tush, Kristen Deans and David J. Carlisle; a great-granddaughter, Addyson Deans; a brother, Willard Godfrey (Elizabeth) of Stockdale; two sisters, Margaret Belle Erdely of Bentleyville and Althea Snyder of Utah; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are three brothers, George F., Joseph H. and Herbert E. Lucy.

Friends are welcome from noon to 2 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Thompson-Marodi Funeral Home Inc., 809 Main Street, Bentleyville, 724-239-2255, where a service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 15, with Pastor Andy Scott officiating. Interment will follow in Mon Valley Memorial Park, Donora. Family suggests memorials contributions be made to First Presbyterian Church, 812 Main Street, Bentleyville, PA 15314.
