Freeda M. Gill
Freeda M. Gill of Washington passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2013, in Southmont of Presbyterian SeniorCare, Washington.
She was born in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late Isaac (Isiah) and Christina Mizner Boop.
Mrs. Gill was a devoted homemaker. In her earlier years, she enjoyed boating, gardening, traveling and cooking for her family.
She was Methodist and a member of the Robin Club of Robinson Township.
Surviving are her beloved children, a son, Roger (Marion) Gill of Washington, and a daughter, Beverly Gill (John) Garwood of Roseville, Calif.; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Also surviving are her two precious companions, Pamby and Honey.
Deceased are her husband of 43 years, Burton Gill, who passed away in 1977; a son, Ronald B. “Ron” Gill, who passed away November 1, 2010; and a sister, Harriet Ketter.
Friends are welcome from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Salandra Funeral Service Inc., Joseph P. Salandra, owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, 724-745-8120, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 15, with Pastor Debra Rogaski officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery, McKees Rocks. The family suggests, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Washington County Human Society in her memory.
