James F. Bagnell
James F. Bagnell, 65, of Monongahela, died Thursday, April 11, 2013, in his home.
He was born November 30, 1947, in Brooklyn, N.Y., a son of John F. and Ethel Bauman Bagnell.
Mr. Bagnell worked for the Department of Public Assistance, Valley Office, for 25 years, retiring as a clerical supervisor.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during Vietnam, Operation Desert Storm and Operation Enduring Freedom, in which he was a recipient of the Bronze Star medal for his exceptionally meritorious service to our country. He retired from the U.S. Army Reserves after 22 years of service.
Mr. Bagnell was a member of American Legion Post 945 in Harrisburg and National Rifle Association. He loved camping, fishing and most recently, ATV riding.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon Hampton Bagnell, with whom he celebrated 22 years of marriage July 20, 2012, a daughter, Meghan Bagnell, a stepdaughter and stepson, Lauren and Stephen Olesky, all at home; and sons James Jr., Jason and Joshua Bagnell.
Friends will be received 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday in Frye Funeral Home Inc., 427 West Main Street, Monongahela, where services will be held at 9 a.m. Monday, April 15, with the Rev. Mark Woomer officiating. Committal services and interment will follow in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township, with full military honors accorded by the U.S. Army.
