John W. Howard
John W. Howard, 74, of Waynesburg, died Wednesday, April 17, 2013, in Southwest Regional Medical Center, Waynesburg, after being ill for several months.
He was born October 21, 1938, in Waynesburg, a son of the late Antoon “Tony” and Elsie Katherine Temple Howard.
Mr. Howard had served in the U.S. Army.
He was a well-known car dealer in the Waynesburg and Morgantown, W.Va., areas for many years.
Surviving are five children, John Howard Jr. of Jefferson, Anthony Howard and wife Roberta of Rices Landing, Cynthia Howard of Waynesburg, Tony Howard and wife Linda of Morgantown and Michelle Howard Trout of Waynesburg; five grandchildren; a great-grandchild; seven siblings, Mary Davis and husband Bob of Jefferson, Paul Howard and wife Kay of Waynesburg, Haddie Doney and husband Marty of Waynesburg, Gloria Keener and husband George of Waynesburg, James Howard and wife Sandy of Pitt Gas, Susie Davis and husband Gerald of Jefferson and Bill Howard and wife Donna of Waynesburg; a brother-in-law, Carl “Cutts” Virgin of Waynesburg; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a son, James Hammond; a brother, Gary T. Howard; and a sister, S. Joan Virgin.
