Patricia A. Grimm
Patricia A. “Patti” Grimm, 46, of West Alexander, died at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, April 21, 2013, in Donnell House, Washington, after a courageous battle with a cancer-related illness since January.
She was born April 1, 1967, in Wheeling, W.Va., a daughter of James Austin and Roberta Jean Lilley Grimm of West Alexander. She had resided in the West Alexander area all of her life.
Miss Grimm was a 1986 graduate of McGuffey High School.
She was last employed as a saleswoman with Gabriel Brothers in Washington for more than 24 years.
Miss Grimm enjoyed bowling, watching movies, camping, board games, puzzles and country music.
She also enjoyed attending youth sports events with her children, making potholders as memory keepsakes for her family and friends and raising a fall garden with pumpkins and gourds.
Surviving, in addition to her parents, are two sons, Christopher J. and Dustin Grimm, both at home; a brother, James A., husband of Dana Grimm, and a sister, Shellie, wife of John Chess, both of West Alexander; three nieces, Annabelle Martin and Alisha and Allison Grimm; a nephew, Charles Martin; maternal grandmother, Joann Post Lilley of West Alexander; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Deceased are her maternal grandfather, Neltson Lilley, and paternal grandparents William A. and Myrtle Fitzgerald Grimm.
Friends will be received from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday in West Alexander Presbyterian Church, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 26, with the Rev. Keith Hornung officiating. Interment will follow in West Alexander Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to a special care fund for Christopher and Dustin Grimm to be established at Community Bank in Claysville.
