Charles D. Wilson

Charles D. Wilson, 70, of Greensboro, died unexpectedly at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 23, 2013, in his home.

He was born March 29, 1943, in Mapletown, a son of the late Orval James and Melva Keener Wilson.

Mr. Wilson was a 1961 graduate of Mapletown High School and served in the U.S. Army in Germany in the early 1960s.

He resided in the Greensboro area all of his life and had worked at Duquesne Light Warwick Mine and J&L Steel and later the Shannopin Mine at Bobtown. In 2011, Mr. Wilson retired from the Emerald Mine in Waynesburg.

Mr. Wilson enjoyed hunting as long as his health permitted.

He loved his family and especially cherished his grandchildren.

On June 3, 1966, he married Lois J. Wolfe, who survives.

Also surviving are a son, Jeffrey S. Wilson of Greensboro; a daughter, Amy R. Leiberger and husband Robert of Uniontown; four grandchildren, Ashley Krause, Katelyn Wilson, Chase Wilson and Krista Wilson; two sisters, Shirley Ross and husband Joe of Washington and Linda Brumley and husband Ron of Greensboro; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased is a brother, James M. Wilson.

Family and friends are welcome from 4 to 8 p.m., the hour of service, Wednesday, April 24, in Yoskovich Funeral Home, 724-966-5500, Martin J. Yoskovich, funeral director, 300 South Vine Street (Route 88), Carmichaels. The Rev. Erwin “Woody” Wilson will officiate.
